YELLOW ROSE GARDEN

TRIBUTE GIFTS

The Yellow Rose Garden is a beloved Convention tradition, which we are pleased to offer in a fully virtual format this year. Members and friends are encouraged to make a donation to the Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation in honor or memory of a Sister to be displayed on our virtual Tribute Wall.

How does the virtual Yellow Rose Garden work?

We are excited to bring the Yellow Rose Garden virtual experience directly to you and your tribute recipient. Each tribute is a tax-deductible $5 donation. To participate:

  • Use the Yellow Rose Garden online donation form to contribute your desired $5 increment (Example: Four tributes = $20). You may submit tributes for up to five Sisters per transaction.
  • In the designated fields, type the names of the Sisters you'd like to recognize. Feel free to add a personal message; your note will only be shared with the recipient.
  • After you have submitted your form, check back to find your honor or memorial on the Tribute Wall located at the bottom of this Rose Garden page.

Please allow up to 24 hours for each tribute to display on the wall.

The Yellow Rose Garden is closed as of July 1st. Thank you for your participation in this longstanding Convention tradition!

THE STORY OF THE
YELLOW ROSE GARDEN...

The selling of yellow rose stickers, which are traditionally applied to the name badge of Convention attendees, is an homage to the notable Elliott Sisters (Edith, Meda Ray, and Betty Gail, Omicron), who may be credited with conducting the first efforts of Foundation fundraising at national events.

The sisters, always sitting side-by-side, didn't allow their hands to be idle during the long days of Convention business. Each sat quietly, but diligently working, hand-making little yellow roses to be attached to the name badges of event attendees.

The Elliott Sisters were generous but asked for a modest contribution to purchase a rose, one for yourself and more to share, with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation.
